After nearly a decade photographing families, couples, and maternity sessions on Maui — and thousands of sessions behind the camera — I’ve learned exactly how to read a room (or a beach), how to calm nervous energy, and how to capture real connection in a way that feels natural and unforced.

One thing I hear at the end of nearly every session is, “Wow, that was way more fun than I expected.” I believe the best images are created when you feel comfortable, not posed. When your kids are allowed to move, they feel more like themselves. When you’re laughing instead of wondering what to do with your hands, the real smiles come out and the nervousness disappears!
